About the blog

The Sherlock Holmes English-speaking Vernacular takes its name from a line in a very good song by The Kinks. From a very good album by The Kinks too – the sublime The Village Green Preservation Society. You should own a copy.

For the most part the blog takes ideas and notions and thoughts and expounds via a near-relentless stream-of-consciousness ramble. It has no agenda, and no set focus. It may contradict itself. It may not always make complete sense. It may on occasion offend.

There will undoubtedly be recurring themes and motifs.

Some of my regular topics are travel, relationships, and the impact of abuse on individuals. I also write about culture.

Comments are welcome.
