Hello darlings! welcome to 30 days of ME (aka. Borderline Narcissism)

21 Aug

Hello darling Bobbystalkers! Have you missed me?

I’ve been missing you all. Wanting to put finger to key and tap out another paen on my laptop before skulking back into the depths of another archival vault… But no, instead I’ve been fighting the need to write for myself with the need to write to pay the bills. Coupled with the biggest mood swings you’ve seen this side of Dawson’s Creek (ah, Joey Potter you should have been mine…) I’ve not really felt the impetus to finish any of the blog entries I’ve started.

But all work and no play makes Bobby an unhappy boy, and in a bid to take my mind off work I’ve decided to take part in a little blog challenge which seems to be doing the rounds. I’m ignoring the fact that its mostly 20-something ladies that are participating. I may be a laddie in my late 20s (just), but the challenge works just as well for me as it does for any lassie.

We all know that the very act of blogging is to some extent self-serving, indulgent and narcissistic. Presumably if you’re here you already know something about me and would be interested in reading more. We also know that these days anything you post on the interwebs WILL come back to haunt you, be quoted by the Daily Fail when you get spoon-raped by an illegal immigrant somewhere up the Khyber Pass. So with that in mind, I’m proffering a guaranteed 30 entries (should be daily… but might stretch it out a bit) which will welcome you to my addled mind and life. Time to change your knickers boys… lots of Bobbyfacts on the way. And maybe one or two Bobbyfictions [would I lie to you? Maybe a bit….].

So, do join in fellow bloggery people and we can treat this whole thing as one extended first date. You know, the bit after the first couple of drinks and a half way through the main when you start to loosen the rungs on your belt, contemplate a trip to the little stalkers room for a pack of jollys, and probe all those important things – family, pets, lovers, children, chocolate, holiday destinations, flowers for the wedding…. If it goes well, we can split a pudding, maybe another bottle of vino collapso and head back to your sofa for a nightcap?

So, taking the list from Simplest Form of Elle via On The Brink Of Something Beautiful (and Tweeted about by Messy Carla), here’s what I’ll be covering:

Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself
Day 02- The meaning behind your Blog name
Day 03- A picture of you and your friends
Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn’t have
Day 05- A picture of somewhere you’ve been to
Day 06- Favorite super hero and why
Day 07- A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
Day 08- Short term goals for this month and why
Day 09- Something you’re proud of in the past few days
Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad
Day 11- Another picture of you and your friends
Day 12- How you found out about Blogger and why you made one
Day 13- A letter to someone who has hurt you recently
Day 14- A picture of you and your family
Day 15- Put your iPod on shuffle: First 10 songs that play
Day 16- Another picture of yourself
Day 17- Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why
Day 18- Plans/dreams/goals you have
Day 19- Nicknames you have; why do you have them
Day 20- Someone you see yourself marrying/being with in the future
Day 21- A picture of something that makes you happy
Day 22- What makes you different from everyone else
Day 23- Something you crave for a lot
Day 24- A letter to your parents
Day 25- What I would find in your bag
Day 26- What you think about your friends
Day 27- Why are you doing this 30 day challenge
Day 28- A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?
Day 29- In this past month, what have you learned
Day 30- Your favorite song.

Caveats: 1) I reserve the right to modify any of the topics for the days when the time comes because I’m in a mood… Thinking of no. 20 here…; 2) I may add additional non-30 days blog entries during the period; 3) there is no caveat 3 ; 4) that’s enough for now.

I’ll start this in the next couple of days. Possibly later today (Saturday), or maybe tomorrow…
